Vehicle thefts and misappropriations pose an ever-increasing threat across Europe, impacting both individuals and businesses. In particular, car rental and leasing companies face rising insurance costs, vehicle replacement expenses, and compensation claims, making the sector increasingly unprofitable and highlighting the need for advanced security measures.
Recently, our Control Tower was tasked with managing an exceptionally complex case involving the misappropriation of 50 high-value vehicles belonging to a leading leasing company in Germany. The vehicles were dispersed simultaneously across several European countries, creating a highly demanding operational environment.
Upon receiving notification of the misappropriation, our Control Tower acted immediately, tracking the vehicles in real time via our specially designed online platform. Simultaneously, activated our network of partners in Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, and Sweden—where the vehicles were located—while also alerting Secure Operations Centers in neighbouring countries.
In line with the pre-established emergency response protocols, all 24/7 SOCs in the countries of incident established immediate communication with local authorities. Additionally, Interpol was involved to ensure prompt dissemination of information to all European authorities regarding the incident.
The outcome was remarkable: all the vehicles were successfully recovered and returned to the leasing company. This operation was recognized as a significant achievement of our Control Tower, which responded effectively by mobilizing and guiding our network to provide real-time information and support to local authorities.
